Eight weird facts about myself that no one asked for.

Have you been dying to know more about the human being the blog? Here’s your chance to learn 8 weird facts about myself without having to ask.

I was hanging out on Threads the other day and came across a list of things that were an introvert’s nightmare. It was composed of three things:

  1. an unplanned phone call
  2. running into someone you know in the store
  3. having to go around the room to introduce yourself.

I definitely hate talking on the phone with most people and only answer for a very select few. I much prefer texting and sending random memes and reels to my friends.

Running into people in the store is hit or miss for me and really just depends on the day. Or what I’m wearing. Or who it is I’m running into. (What? You know it’s true.)

But that last one, having to go around the room and say something about yourself… or even just answering a question like “so, what do you do for a living?” gives me hives. Like actual hives. I never know how to answer it and always feel like the answer I give is the wrong one.

In order to combat that fear and general discomfort, I’ve decided to put together a list of weird facts about myself for complete strangers on the internet. Because that’s way more comfortable to do than sit in a room full of people staring at you and waiting for your answer.

Obviously.

So here they are. Eight weird facts about myself that no one asked for.

  1. I hate cheese. Yep. Hate it. It makes me gag to even smell it. Touching it gives me the heebie jeebies. And eating it? It’s likely to make me puke. It’s almost happened when I accidentally ate some in a salad that most definitely wasn’t supposed to have any cheese in it.
  2. If something is too popular, I avoid it like the plague. I have never seen Orange Is The New Black (OITNB) or Handmaid’s Tale. Nor have I read the ACOTAR series. And I absolutely despise Stanley’s. Give me a generic stainless steel water bottle, please and thank you. Crocs? Those are my worst nightmare. Name brand beauty products? Fuhgeddaboudit.
  3. I refuse to wear branded anything. I absolute abhor clothing and purses that have the company’s logo all over it. It seriously makes me cringe.
  4. I LOVE starting new projects. There is something so dang exciting to me about those first few weeks and months of a new project. From coming up with the idea to creating the branding and plan for implementing everything, my brain is firing on all cylinders. Once everything is up and running, though, I lose steam and have a hard time focusing or mustering the energy to continue. (I can do it, it just takes a lot more effort.)
  5. I’m allergic to stevia. Apparently that’s due to me being allergic to ragweed, since they are in the same botanical family. And it’s super annoying since stevia is in pretty much everything these days.
  6. I have been blogging for over 18 years. That’s right. I started blogging for a crafting business back in 2006 and have had around 9 different websites that I’ve built for myself over the years.
  7. I have lived in 3 countries, 5 states, 8 cities, and 13 different homes. Not gonna lie, that one took an embarrassing amount of time to figure out. The longest I’ve ever been in one place was 12 years and that was our last house. Amazing to think about.
  8. I cannot stand the song September by Earth, Wind, and Fire. I don’t know what it is about that song, but it just irks me. My husband and kids think that’s the dumbest thing ever and troll me with it as often as they can.

What about you? What are some totally random or weird facts about yourself that you want strangers on the internet to know about?
